MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC) is an investment
holding company listed on the Main Board of the Malaysia
Stock Exchange Berhad (MSEB: MMCCORP) with main interest
in three core businesses: Transport & Logistics,
Energy & Utilities and Engineering & Construction.
The Transport & Logistics Division focuses on
the company's port and toll road operations. The Energy
& Utilities Division comprise our interests in
the power generation and natural gas distribution
while the Engineering & Construction Division
handles the engineering, procurement and construction
activities.
Transport & Logistics
MMC is involved in two main activities, container
port operations and logistics hub under Pelabuhan
Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) and toll road operations
through Konsortium Lebuhraya Butterworth-Kulim (KLBK)
Sdn Bhd. PTP, South East Asia's fastest growing transshipment
hub is already in the top 20 rank of ports in the
world after only 4 years in operations whilst KLBK
is the only highway infrastructure linking the northern
West Coast to the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
Energy & Utilities
Two main activities under this sector are natural
gas distribution and power generation, having Gas
Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's sole natural gas distributor
and Malakoff Berhad, currently the nation's leading
Independent Power Producer (IPP). MMC Oil & Gas
Engineering Sdn Bhd and Tepat Teknik Sdn Bhd, our
companies in design engineering services for the oil
& gas sector and steel fabrication works provide
support services for this Division.
Engineering & Construction
The engineering and construction works is undertaken
by MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd within MMC, and
Zelan Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd and IJM Corp. Berhad via
Tronoh Mines Malaysia Berhad. IJM Corp is a major
construction player in the country while Zelan is
one of the leader in the power plant construction
industry.
Others
There are other business activities that complement
the three main activities such as tin smelting through
Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad, glove manufacturing
and trading by Integrated Rubber Corporation Berhad,
weather strip manufacturing by Seginiaga Rubber Industries
Sdn Bhd and defence contracting by MMC Defence Sdn
