Delegates from The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Tunnelling and Underground Space Technical Division visited SMART on the 6 August 2009. They were headed by Ir. Dr. Mohd Farid Ahmad and Ir. Neo Boon Kheng. The delegates consisted of 18 registered engineers from various private sectors in Kuala Lumpur were briefed on SMART concepts and operations by Encik Mohd Noor Mohd Ali, Toll Operations & PR Manager of SMART and followed by a Q&A session thereafter by Mr. Mok Wan Seng, Senior Manager, M&E. They were all impressed with the uniqueness and the importance of SMART tunnel in mitigating the flood and traffic congestion problems faced by the city of Kuala Lumpur.
