SMART together with Majlis Keselamatan Negara conducted an Emergency Drill in the SMART Tunnel on 25 & 26 October 2008. The exercise involved more than 300 personnel from various government agencies such as Police, Bomba, HKL, DBKL, and others. The scenario was a multiple vehicles accident that involved a number of victims, culminating to an explosion and the release of unknown gas. Capabilities of the agencies involved was put on test and various rescue methods and techniques was used.
The exercise met it objectives in identifying areas that can be improved as well as means of cooperation between the agencies. Only during such exercises or drills can the agencies practice what has being taught. It is also a venue for them to gain experience and test their skill. This is the 4th time SMART conducted an Emergency Drill together with the authorities. The other 3 times was done last year.
