Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) organized a 2-days Conference on SMART tunnel, held at the Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya. The conference attracted more than 100 participants from various organizations who were very keen to know more about SMART. The conference was officiated by Y. Bhg. Dato' Ir. Hj. Ahmad Husaini Sulaiman, Director General of Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Malaysia who also delivered the keynote address.

The first day was filled with various papers presented by those involved in the construction of the construction of the first in the world dual-purpose tunnel. The second day was the site visit to the Stormwater Control Center at Kg Berembang Ampang and the Motorway Control Center at Jalan Davis Kuala Lumpur. The participants was briefed in detail on the whole operation of the SMART Tunnel by representative of JPS and SMART Concessionaire at each location.

The participants was also given the opportunity for a walkabout at the Holding Pond at Kg Berembang and to view the Motorway Control Room in operation.
